Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade: A Coastal Celebration of Fun and Community

The Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade is a one-of-a-kind celebration that brings the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras to the shores of the Gulf Coast. Founded in 2010, this family-friendly event takes place annually on the sandy beaches of North Padre Island, Texas, blending the lively traditions of Mardi Gras with the laid-back, barefoot lifestyle of coastal living.

A Parade Like No Other
Participants and spectators alike enjoy a colorful procession of elaborately decorated floats, golf carts, and costumed walkers. True to its name, many attendees embrace the beachy vibe by ditching their shoes and celebrating barefoot. The parade route winds along the beach, offering stunning views of the ocean and a relaxed, festive atmosphere that’s perfect for all ages.

Join the Tradition
Whether you're a local or visiting the Gulf Coast, the Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade is a must-experience event. Wear your most creative costume, grab some beads, and join in the fun of this unique celebration where the joy of Mardi Gras meets the beauty of the beach.
